STATE MEDICAL BOARD OF OHIO CONSIDERING NEW CONDITIONS TO BE TREATED WITH MEDICAL CANNABIS
Published: Nov 02, 2020 by John IzzoThe State Medical Board of Ohio announced it will once again consider new conditions to be treated with medical cannabis. The Medical Board began taking applications on November 1, 2020. Although decisions on the applications submitted November 1, 2020, should be issued no later than June 30, 2021, history tells us a decision may arrive later than that.Â
Only the Legislature or the Medical Board may add conditions to be treated with medical cannabis. Currently there are 23 conditions that can be treated with medical cannabis. Since the program’s inception, only cachexia has been added as a qualifying condition. Requests are likely to be made to add anxiety and autism spectrum disorder, which has failed the past two years.Â
If you have any questions about the regulation of medical cannabis in Ohio, how to become licensed, or how to add a condition to be treated with medical cannabis, you should consider contacting an attorney at Graff & McGovern.
